Reality can be as fascinating as fiction. Welcome to the majestic Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, just a few hours from Tokyo

It's a part of the 'Roof of Japan', a mountain road across the Toyama and Nagano prefectures
Once here, tourists can indulge in an hour's walk through the icy passages

Even though accessible for few months only, the Snow Wall Walk is a huge tourism attraction with approximately 5000 daily visitors

Massive Snow Wall Walk: Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route

From mid April to the end of June, this roadway is a major tourist attraction in Toyama prefecture. Why? Well, for the SNOW WALLS of course! They can go as high as 26m some years but this year, it peaked at 19m which is still as high as a 5 story building.
