Chor Bazar, Mumbai
With its name literally meaning "thieves market," Chor Bazaar is one of the most popular shopping areas in Mumbai. The market has a rich historical legacy being over 150 years old and was originally meant to be called "Shor Bazaar" which meaning "Noisy Market." But the British mispronounced "shor" as "chor" and this led to the name being infamously changed from Shor Bazaar to Chor Bazaar. The market started selling stolen good eventually, living up to its name. Today, it is still one of the most popular markets-cum-heritage sites in Mumbai people visit. So the next time you visit Mumbai (India), make sure to include in your itinerary a visit to this epic market in Mumbai. Here's a list of popular items you can expect to find at Chor Bazaar.
