[nidokidos] Keep Bhopal In Your Thoughts Atleast Today

Keep Bhopal In Your Thoughts Atleast Today

31 years back, on 3rd December, a tragedy took place. A night turned into a nightmare. A poisonous gas leaked from a Union carbide factory killed and maimed ten of thousands in their sleep.
Considered to be one of the world's worst industrial disasters, but there is no justice. This can happen in our country only, where a crime of such level is neglected by own countrymen.
More than half a million continue to live with lingering health problems like cancer, respiratory illnesses, developmental disabilities, birth disabilities, cancer and reproductive disorders. The toxic contamination of underground water and soil in and around the abandoned factory site is one of the persistent testimonies of corporate crime and impunity. The tragedy is still an ongoing human rights travesty.
Do we learn from such tragedy, the answer is no. We wait for another tragedy to happen.

Revisiting the Bhopal Gas Tragedy 30 Years later

The Tragedy from 1984 still hovers over Bhopal as people still come to terms with the loss of loved ones to the newer generations still suffering the aftermath after 30 long years. This is a heart wrenching story of the tribulations and accounts of that fateful night on December the 2nd 1984.
