Oh the soul of Tipu Sultan!
Still the breezes that blow across my nation,
Carry the fragrance of your blood with them;
Still your gallantry is the pride of my country,
That teaches us a lesson, how a tiger lives.
Still the history is singing your heroic deeds,
That were the terror for the foes of our land;
Still your name is the beacon light for us all ,
That serves as a guide for present and future .
( He embraced martyrdom on May, 4, 1799 )
