A New Dating Trend Has People Smelling The Worn T-shirts Of Potential Lovers
There's a new trend in dating that's sweeping the world, and it's about as bizarre as it gets: Pheromone Parties.
Pheromones are the chemical triggers of sexual attraction in mammals. It's suggested that males smell "availability" and females smell "genetic quality" in these pheromones.
Before Pheromone Parties, guests are asked to sleep in a t-shirt for 3 nights to capture their "odor print" (pheromones) and bring it to the date night in a ziplock bag.
Bags are then labeled pink for girls and blue for boys, and each bag is assigned a number.
Only the guest knows what their t-shirt number is.
Bags are then placed on a table and guests smell the bags throughout the party.
If guests find the smell attractive, they take a picture with the bag at a photographer station. These pictures are projected as a slideshow on the wall at the party.
If the t-shirt owner finds the picture of the guest attractive, this is a green light to talk to them.
At the end of each party, a Facebook album is created and all of the pictures are tagged, so if someone missed their match at a party, there's still a way to contact them.
Sounds like a joke, right? But in fact, Pheromone Parties are actually successful. It might not be because of the pheromones, though, but rather because a party like this opens up interesting and intimate conversations that help people break down barriers. Either way, what a party to go to!
