A boy left his bike chained to a tree when he went away to war in 1914. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike. Incredible that this bike has been there for 98 years now!

Florence Nightingale always felt she was on the verge of death. She finally succumbed to the great reaper in 1910 at the grand old age of 90, having spent the previous 57 years almost entirely bedridden.
1969: Ted Kennedy was driving drunk when he veered off a bridge. Mary Jo Kopechne was in the back seat. Ted swam ashore but left her to drown. He walked to his motel, complained to the manager about a noisy party, took a shower, slept, ordered newspapers when he woke, spoke to a friend two lawyers before calling police 9 hrs later. Divers estimated they could have saved Mary Jo. She had not drowned, but had survived in an air pocket. She asphyxiated when the oxygen ran out several hrs later.
