Day of Prayer and Resistance - Lahore
For the first one hour outside St. Anthony's, under the sun and in the scorching heat there were just ten. But to quote from Fields of Dream "If you build it, they will come." An Hour later there were 500. The Pastor and the Mufti raised their hands together in the air and chanted "Down with Terrorism, Down with TTP". The Human Chain got so long it crossed the boundary of the Church. Lahore finally woke up early on Sunday. Last week it was Karachi. Today it was Lahore. Next week Islamabad and then we would stand firm where it all started: Peshawer. For those who ask why my friends and I come out and protest? What difference does it make? When an old man whose even older than Pakistan whom you have never met before comes to you and puts his hand on your head to bless you and says "Aaj khush hon main Pakistan main hon", you feel like doing this everyday. Thank you NCJP, LUMS, NCA, Central Punjab Univeristy, Communist Mazdoor Party, Voice and all those who showed up. Thank you Lahore, came with a bag full of placards, leaving with a heart full of hope and blessings
