[nidokidos] Reviving Extinct Species

 

 
 

Remember the film Jurassic Park, where a group of scientists reproduced dinosaurs in the lab and ……

 

Well, reproducing dinosaurs is somewhat far fetched and quite impossible since dino bones do not contain any dna owing to their bones being calcified by eons in the rocks. But as you can read in the attached pdf. produced from a scanned article in this month's National Geographic Magazine, reproducing extinct animals from as far back as the ice age thousands of years ago is quite feasible and will no doubt occur within our lifetime. Science has advanced so much that scientists are poised to begin resurrecting such animals as the Whooly Mammoth, the dodo and other species that you may not be so familiar with.
