Russian Couple Adopted An Orphaned Bear 23 Years Ago,
And They Still Live Together

Meet Stepan, a domesticated bear who lives with his humans Svetlana and Yuriy Panteleenko in Moscow, Russia. The Panteleenkos adopted Stepan when he was just a 3-month-old orphaned cub. He was found by hunters in a forest all alone and in a very bad condition, so Svetlana and Yuriy decided to give him a home.

But Svetlana and Yuriy nurtured him back to health

Now he's a 23-year-old loving goofball!

"He absolutely loves people and is a really sociable bear"

"Despite what people might think, he is not aggressive at all"

"We have never been bitten by Stepan"

The bear eats 25kg of fish, vegetables and eggs every day!

He does enjoy his cup of tea, too

The gentle giant manages to stay in shape thanks to his love for games outdoors

But there's nothing like snuggling with his humans on a couch…

And did we mention that gardening is his ultimate passion?

Body Parts You Didn't Know Had Names

Glabella. The glabella is the space between the eyebrows. A glabellar reflex is a primitive reflex found in patients with Parkinson's disease. When repeatedly tapped on the forehead, they blink continuously. Normal people do not.

Rascette lines. The young people wrinkles across your wrist, rascette lines, are also known as bracelet lines, and are believed in palmistry to signify health and longevity.

Purlicue. The area between your forefinger and your thumb you see when you flash the letter L; unofficial symbol of the Glee club.

Pate. The top of a person's head; the crown.

Philtrum. The area between the bottom of your nose and the top of your lip

Tragus. That piece of cartilage on the outer part of the ear that blocks the ear passage.

Lunula. The white crescent near the base of your fingernail, the lunule is touted by some to be a health indicator for a range of health problems, from mineral deficiency to kidney problems.
