Animals Keep Cool at Brookfield Zoo

Today, with temperatures once again heading into the 90s, the Animal Programs staff at Brookfield Zoo helped the animals keep cool. Thanks to a generous donation by Lang Ice, the sloth bears (Hani and her two 6-month-old cubs), polar bears (Hudson, Aussie, and Anana), and grizzly bears (Jim and Axhi) received blocks of ice, topped with some the animals' favorite treats—corn syrup, fruits, and vegetables. Additionally, keepers made smaller blocks of ice with beef bones for the lions (Isis and Zenda).

After watching a story of an Emperor on TV:

"Mum, I also want 7 wives, one will cook for me, one will read for me, one will go for walk with me, one will sing for me, one can bath me,...."

Mum smiled and said:
"Then night time I don't have to accompany you to sleep!"

After some thought, son said:
"Not possible, I still want to sleep with you mummy!"
