Change Your Mind Change the World

What did Gandhi, Nelson Mandella and Mother Theresa have in common?
They all knew that how YOU see the world is how YOU create the world!

YOU can change the world sounds like an impossible claim,
but it's quite simple really. How you see the world is how you create the world. If you believe the world is a dark and dangerous place you will perceive (which means see and create) events and circumstances as a threat. Where? In your own mind. Your thoughts and feelings will be negative and you will radiate fear into your relationships and into the world. Your perception is your reality. It is also your choice.

Yes YOU are a Walking Radiator!

On the other hand, if you believe the world is an adventure playground you will 'see' and 'create' (perceive) events and circumstances as an opportunity to play and be creative. Your thoughts and feelings will be consistently positive, and you will radiate a natural joy into the world. And that's called love.

It's Entirely up to You.
How you see the world shapes what you bring to the world. Do you bring fear or love? You can positively affect the world 'out there', but only when you change how you see the world 'in here', and that's entirely your choice. In a world where we are largely taught to believe the worst and see the negative, making that positive and creative choice will, for many, require power, practice and new perceptions at a personal level. Are you ready to change your mind? Are you prepared to change how you see the world?

The Ripple Effect

When you make the conscious shift from 'world as a dark and dangerous place' to 'world as playground with infinite creative possibilities' you are the first to 'feel' the positive effects. Those around you receive a positive energy, and you create what is known as the 'ripple effect'. In that moment you would be called 'a leader'.

Gandhi knew this as he walked his talk of absolute non-violence.
Mandella knew this when he forgave his captors.
Mother Theresa knew and expressed this through her compassion.
They didn't ignore the reality of others situations, they didn't deny the suffering around them.
They changed how they saw their world and that changed our world … forever.

No Tobacco day

No Tobacco day was observed all over the word today (31st May). The purpose of observing this day is to draw our attention towards health risks associated with smoking. Awareness programs in UAE electronic media were on-air discussing the life threatening risks of smoking. Further, the sale of tobacco was prohibited for the whole day in order to encourage the population, youth in particular, to get rid of this habit.

Talking about Pakistan it is sad to observe that least awareness campaigns were observed in electronic and print media. Not a single TV ad was noticed in television all day long. Further, it is observed that the price of 20 cigarettes packet is only 5 AED in Pakistan comparing to that of Australia 60 AED and UK 40 AED.

It's a tragedy for a nation where joblessness density is increasing day by day; low cigarette price and its easy availability adds fuel the fire. The depressed youth have easy access to tobacco with the misconception that they will get quick relief from their stress without considering the long term cancers they are developing in their bodies.

On top of that the least effective attitude of ministries is very disheartening. As per world health report in Pakistan 574 Cigarettes per adult per year are smoked. Comparing to India having 129, Nigeria 189, Afghanistan 98, Sudan 77 cigarettes per adult per year it is critically important for the health ministry to device concrete strategic moves in order to eradicate this disease from the nation. For example cigarette availability in the market should be limited, strictly prohibited for sale under 18 and the selling cost should be high so as to discourage people buying all kinds of tobacco products. Last but not least, a lot of awareness campaigns in print, electronic and social media are to run by relevant ministries and authorities.

A deadly game of chicken: Indian teenagers risk their lives standing on tracks in front of train before leaping into river at last second

This is the terrifying moment a group of Indian teenagers narrowly avoided being killed while playing a deadly game of chicken on a railway line.
The group were spotted running out in front of a large passenger train on the tracks of the Daliganj Railway Bridge in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
As the speeding train closes in, the teenagers run along the tracks - each waiting until the last possible moment to leap off the open-sided bridge into the roaring waters of the River Gomti below.

Taking a risk: The teenagers spend the hot summer afternoons running out in front of large passenger trains as they cross the Daliganj Railway Bridge in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

Chicken: As the speeding train closes in, the teenagers run along the tracks - each waiting until the last possible moment to leap off the open-sided bridge into the roaring waters of the River Gomti below

Waiting: Despite the dangerous nature of the act, the young men are adamant that none of them have ever been hurt playing on the tracks
The teenagers gather on the bridge every day at noon, as temperatures soar to an unbearable 45C.
Standing on the tracks, often with the trains only meters away, their terrifying game of chicken involves competing to be last person to leap from the bridge into the refreshing water below.

Along with the challenges posed by the sweltering heat, fast moving trains and deep waters, the teens also have to try and evade local law enforcement.
'We do this every summer. This is a great way of having fun. Otherwise, going about normally around the river is very boring,' 18-year-old Mukesh Kumar, the first to jump from the bridge, said.
'We also have bets sometimes about who jumps last and waits for the train to come nearest,' he added.

Standing on the tracks, often with the trains only metres away, their terrifying game of chicken involves competing to be last person to leap from the bridge into the refreshing water below.

Along with the challenges posed by the sweltering heat, fast moving trains and deep waters, the teens also have to try and evade local law enforcement

Reckless: However, as the police officers refuse to jump off the bridge after them, the young men say they have never yet been caught, and will continue to play their deadly game of chicken on the tracks

The teenagers gather on the bridge every day at noon, as temperatures soar to an unbearable 45C. They say their incredibly dangerous acts help to alleviate their boredom
Police officers have a tough time manning the tracks and stopping teenagers diving off the bridge.
'The police come once in a while, but once we have jumped off, they cannot chase us. We outrun them every time,' Varun Jadav, a teenager who frequents the spot, said.
'Also, it is so hot at that time of the day that even the railway track is boiling hot. So when we are here that no one comes around this spot,' he added.
Despite the dangerous nature of the act, the young men are adamant that none of them have ever been hurt playing on the tracks.
'We do this a lot, so there is no question of getting injured or anything,' Kumar said.

Few travellers have ventured to Iran in recent years.
But as the country marks 25 years since the death of Ayatollah Khomeini, the father of the Islamic revolution, a spectacular series of images reveals what life is like in the second-largest nation in the Middle East.

Ayatollah Khomeini was the leader of the 1979 Iranian Revolution which overthrew Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran. Khomeini then became the country's supreme leader.
Twenty-five years after his death, on June 4, 1989, the country will honour the leader, whose legacy lives on and whose face still gazes across cities and towns from murals painted onto buildings.
The country is expected to come to a standstill for the day, with flights in and out grounded.
But with current president Hassan Rouhani recently declaring the country open for business, this series of photos could inspire intrepid travellers to visit the country.

IRAN - German tourists speak of journey to Iran

Despite warnings from some friends and family members as well the German government about traveling to Iran, the Ivan family, a family of four with German, Romanian and French ancestry, came to Iran and traveled around the country in five months.
The trip has helped them become familiarized with the Iranian culture and the true image of Iran and the Iranian people. Along the way, they have made many friends and learned to speak the Persian language fluently.
