The Cars of Tomorrow!

The cars of today look completely different to the cars people were driving around in decades gone by, as our previous articles celebrating the cars of yesteryear have proven. But as we have become more and more reliant on road travel, the desire for innovation has continued to gather pace, with car designers ever keen to create vehicles that push the boundaries of comfort, performance and practicality to new levels.

This list brings together ten of the most innovative car designs currently in development, and it's fair to say that some of them would once have been more commonly found on the set of a science fiction film, rather than the actual road. Can you envisage some of these incredible vehicles hitting a road near you any time soon?

1. Mercedes Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion

The Mercedes Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion might be a bit of a mouthful of a name, but it accurately describes the concept behind the car's design. The intention of the F015 is to ensure that any journey is as relaxing and as comfortable as possible, wherever the destination. It's a driverless vehicle and the interior looks more a lounge than a car, with sleek, curved seats and doors that open at a 90 degree angle to allow ease of access. All the car's functions are controlled by touch screen computers, but it will also be capable of reading gestures and eye movements. The only problem is that it looks so good you'd just want the chance to drive it!

2. AeroMobil 3.0

The AeroMobil 3.0 aims to turn one of the most age-old dreams of science fiction into reality. It is a fully functional flying car, capable of reaching speeds of 160kph (100mph) on land and 200kph (124mph) in the air. Several fully functional prototypes have been manufactured already, and despite some teething problems (one of the early prototypes crashed), the AeroMobil has now successfully completed its first test run, both on land and in the air.

3. Chevrolet EN-V

Overcongestion is a modern day problem that effects virtually every major city in the world, and we all know how frustrating it is to be stuck in unending lines of traffic. It's an issue that is only going to get worse if left unaddressed, and one that car designers are keen to acknowledge when considering the cars of tomorrow. Step forward the Chevrolet EN-V, a car designed to alleviate the problem of overcrowding in the simplest way possible - by being really, really small. The electrically powered car is able to balance perfectly on its two wheels, despite its small base, and shouldn't be a problem to park given its tiny size.

4. Cadillac Aera

The Cadillac Aera is designed to be stylish and luxurious without compromising on efficiency and reliability. It is incredibly lightweight, yet manufactured from a material that can resist virtually any impact with another vehicle, thanks to several air pockets woven into the bodywork, which help minimize the severity of an impact inside the vehicle. It is also exceptionally aerodynamic, which makes it highly fuel efficient. If that wasn't enough, it also has a special engine powered by compressed air, and can drive for more than 1,000 miles without being refueled.

5. Kia Pop

The concept of the electric car has been around for some time, and is particularly important as the world becomes increasingly aware that fossil fuel supplies will not be around forever. The Kia Pop is one such solution and features a futuristic, instantly recognizable shape and design. It is also exceptionally lightweight, ensuring that the electric motor can travel for around 100 miles before it needs to be charged. It could be the perfect car for our increasingly congested, polluted cities.

6. Google's Self Driving Car

Google is so much more than an internet search engine these days, and have placed themselves at the forefront of a number of technological projects that could shape the future. Heading the list of these is the Google Self Driving Car, capable of traveling on the road without any input from the driver. It uses a number of sensors and a navigations system that sits on the top of the car (along with maps pre-loaded onto built-in computers) to navigate the road, although un the Mercedes F015, they can be driven manually too. It is hoped that the concept could alleviate a number of problems in the future - helping people cover long distances more easily; reducing the issue of drunk driving; and allowing people with degenerative physical conditions to stay mobile.

7. Mercedes Benz BIOME

The F015 has already hinted strongly at the leading role Mercedes Benz takes when it comes to futuristic car concepts, and the BIOME provides another example. It stands alone when it comes to innovation, by being the first car that is designed to be 'grown' rather than manufactured. Yes, you've read that right, the BIOME is made from natural materials including a specially grown material called BioFibre, which is incredibly light but majorly strong, and can be grown in a lab. The BIOME aims to combine the latest in modern technology, innovative design and nature's abundant resources to create a truly unique vehicle.

8. Terrafugia TF-X

The Terrafugia TF-X is another vehicle design hoping to satisfy the longstanding desire for a flying car. The concept has been researched and in development for many years, and the TF-X is by far Terrafugia's most advanced prototype yet. While the AeroMobil needs 250 meters (850 feet) to take off, the TF-X incorporates powerful propellers that allow the vehicle to take off vertically. That would certainly be one way to skip a traffic line! Once airborne, the TF-X will be capable of 320kph (200mph).

9. BMW GINA

The BMW GINA has been in development since 2001. Prototypes have been exhibited at trade shows all over the world, showcasing the GINA's unique body work and design quirks, all designed to make the driving experience more enjoyable. While most sports cars are manufactured predominantly from lightweight materials such as aluminum or carbon fiber, the GINA is made from a flexible, stretchable and water resistant fabric, which is actually a form of coated Spandex. This means that the car's body changes shape according to the conditions and speed at which the car is traveling.

10. Toyota Nori

The physical appearance of the Toyota Nori may well split opinion, but there is no denying that it is at the forefront of current innovation. It is not only exceptionally environmentally friendly, but the chassis and body of the car are one interwoven structure, rather than two entirely separate constructions. This keeps manufacturing costs down, but also increases the strength of the vehicle and reduces its total weight, making it more efficient. The Nori is powered by an electric motor, but its body work also contains solar cells, ensuring solar power is captured and stored as a backup in case the electric motor runs out of charge, or fails altogether.

21 Rules for a Good Old Age...
Thought you might enjoy this!

Let us never know what old age is. Let us know the happiness time brings, not count the years.

Some of us have reached our golden years, and some of us have not. But these suggestions should be read by everyone. They have been collected from many a senior, each with his or her own piece of advice. Some you know, some may surprise you, and some will remind you of what's important. So read well, share with your loved ones, and have a great day and a great life!

1. it's time to use the money you saved up. Use it and enjoy it. Don't just keep it for those who may have no notion of the sacrifices you made to get it. Remember there is nothing more dangerous than a son or daughter-in-law with big ideas for your hard earned capital.

2. Stop worrying about the financial situation of your children and grandchildren, and don't feel bad spending your money on yourself. You've taken care of them for many years, and you've taught them what they could.

3. Keep a healthy life, without great physical effort. Do moderate exercise (like walking every day), eat well and get your sleep. It's easy to become sick, and it gets harder to remain healthy.

4. Always buy the best, most beautiful items for your significant other. The key goal is to enjoy your money with your partner.

5. Don't stress over the little things. You've already overcome so much in your life. You have good memories and bad ones, but the important thing is the present.

6. Regardless of age, always keep love alive. Love your partner, love life, love your family, love your neighbor and remember: "A man is not old as long as he has intelligence and affection."

7. Be proud, both inside and out. Don't stop going to your hair salon or barber, do your nails, go to the dermatologist and the dentist, keep your perfumes and creams well stocked.

8. Don't lose sight of fashion trends for your age, but keep your own sense of style. There's nothing worse than an older person trying to wear the current fashion among youngsters.

9. ALWAYS stay up-to-date. Read newspapers, watch the news. Go online and read what people are saying. Make sure you have an active email account and try to use some of those social networks.

10. Respect the younger generation and their opinions. They may not have the same ideals as you, but they are the future, and will take the world in their direction. Give advice, not criticism, and try to remind them of yesterday's wisdom that still applies today.

11. Never use the phrase: "In my time". Your time is now. As long as you're alive, you are part of this time. You may have been younger, but you are still you now, having fun and enjoying life.

12. Some people embrace their golden years, while others become bitter and surly. Life is too short to waste your days on the latter. Spend your time with positive, cheerful people, it'll rub off on you and your days will seem that much better. Spending your time with bitter people will make you older and harder to be around.

13. Do not surrender to the temptation of living with your children or grandchildren (if you have a financial choice, that is). Sure, being surrounded by family sounds great, but we all need our privacy.

14. Don't abandon your hobbies. If you don't have any, make new ones. You can travel, hike, cook, read, and dance. You can grow a garden, play cards, checkers, chess, dominoes, and golf. You can paint or use computer to connect with social groups.

15. Even if you don't feel like it, try to accept invitations, Baptisms, graduations, birthdays, weddings, conferences. Try to go. Get out of the house; meet people you haven't seen in a while.

16. Be a conversationalist. Talk less and listen more. Some people go on and on about the past, not caring if their listeners are really interested. That's a great way of reducing their desire to speak with you. Listen first and answer questions, but don't go off into long stories unless asked to. Speak in courteous tones and try not to complain or criticize too much unless you really need to.

17. Pain and discomfort go hand in hand with getting older. Try not to dwell on them but accept them as a part of the cycle of life we're all going through.

18. If you've been offended by someone - forgive them. If you've offended someone - apologize.

19. If you have a strong belief, savor it. But don't waste your time trying to convince others. They will make their own choices no matter what you tell them,

20. Laugh. Laugh A LOT. Laugh at everything. Remember, you are one of the lucky ones. You managed to have a life, a long one. Many never get to this age.

21. Take no notice of what others say about you and even less notice of what they might be thinking. They'll do it anyway, and you should have pride in yourself and what you've achieved. Let them talk and don't worry. They have no idea about your history, your memories and the life you've lived so far. There's still much to be written, so get busy writing and don't waste time thinking about what others might think. Now is the time to be at rest, at peace and as happy as you can be!

AND REMEMBER: "Life is too short not to sing, dance, and live happy". Always Tell her…I love you.

[nidokidos] Soothe Your Sciatic Pain with These 8 Natural Remedies

8 Natural Remedies for Sciatic Pain

One of the largest nerves in the body is the sciatic nerve, running down from your lower spine all the way to your feet. This nerve is vital for your legs' movement, feeling and strength. A condition called sciatica can occur where the spinal nerve root in the lower back is compressed. This pain is often mistaken for being leg cramps or lower back pain. It can be quite debilitating.

We'd like to suggest 8 natural therapies that are reported by many people to reduce spasms, cramps, pain, and numbness.
You might also suffer sciatic pain from when a herniated disk develops. This is a tear or crack in a spinal disk that bulges into the spinal canal, sometimes resulting in the sciatic nerve getting pinched. If your pain persists, it's important that you visit a doctor, as surgery may be required to correct it.

~ Note: This advice should not replace medical advice, please consult your doctor before deciding on a treatment path.

1. Acupuncture

This alternative therapy involves hair fine needles, which are inserted into specific points in your body. The inserted needles stimulate energy flow and help improve nerve function. Many people report noticing a difference after one session. However, it is recommended you have several sessions (at least 12) to see a noticeable improvement. More symptoms can be relieved when you try warming acupuncture, a practice of acupuncture where needles are heated.

2. Chiropractor
Although dismissed by many, this treatment was shown to offer pain relief, with benefits that can last for up to a year. Chiropractic care is a form of spinal manipulation that incites a response in the nervous system, which can restore normal mobility to an injured area and considerably reduce the amount of pain. The treatment creates an environment that promotes natural healing. The practice is also known to reduce inflammation and improve nerve function.

3. Alternate Temperatures

Using ice packs, or even wrapping a bag of frozen peas in a towel, can offer instant relief to the nerve. You can ice the area for 20 minutes every two hours, as needed. While ice soothes the outer pain, the sciatic nerve lies deeper in the body and ice packs can't penetrate beyond the surface and won't ease the inner inflammation. This is where heat can be effective. After icing, you can take a very hot bath or apply a hot pack. This boosts the blood circulation and lymph flow, reducing the inner inflammation, and assists the healing process.

4. Deep Tissue Massage

Trigger point therapy, the type of massage experts recommend for treating sciatica, is not a gentle massage. This targeted deep tissue massage can improve issues such as muscle spasms, as well as reduce pain and numbness in the legs and toes. The sciatic nerve rests underneath the piriformis muscle, located beneath the glutes. When this muscle tightens, it can pinch the sciatic nerve and cause the leg to go numb or tingle. Applying pressure to the inflamed areas, (or trigger points) in the glutes, lower back and piriformis muscles can ease sciatic pain. It might take up to 4 sessions before this therapy works. Each treatments session should be 7 days apart.

5. Devil's Claw

Taking this herbal medication has been reported to be effective at reducing sciatic pain. The herb is a strong natural anti-inflammatory and works much like ibuprofen to reduce inflammation. The daily recommended dosage is 1,500mg, twice a day. You should find a brand with 50mg of harpagoside, which is the active compound. This is a safe pill, tested by safety reviews, however, keep away from this option is you are taking blood thinning medication or have peptic ulcers.

6. Tennis Ball Therapy

This treatment relieves sore muscles and muscle tension caused by sciatica by using the principles of massage, acupressure and reflexology. Like the deep tissue massage, this technique focuses on treating the piriformis muscle. Pressing the tennis ball against these muscles, the muscle tension, pain and rigidity in the buttocks and legs are reduced. This exercise also improves mobility and blood circulation in the affected area.

7. Epsom Salt Bath

These therapeutic salts are well known for relaxing the nervous system and extracting toxins from the body. They're commonly purchased at any pharmacy and are effective when added to a hot bath. Add 2 cups of the salt to your tub and soak for 20 minutes. The salts will do their magic while the heat will help reduce inflammation and increase blood circulation.

8. Yoga and Mild Stretches

When you're in pain the last thing you want to do is move, however when you're inactive the condition gets aggravated. Exercise can increase your blood flow, strengthen you muscles and improve your mobility. The journal of Pain reports that regular yoga practice can reduce pain by 64% and disability by 77%. It is recommended that you choose a gentle form. The improved flexibility and poses employed help you position yourself in ways that don't aggravate the sciatica.

This device can bring dead hearts back to life.

Researchers have developed a device that can bring a dead heart back to life, even after it's stopped beating inside its original body. And while this is great news for those in need of a heart transplant.

[nidokidos] Never give up hope [1 Attachment]

My friends … Never give up hope:

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky.

The worst had happened - everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger.

"God, how could you do this to me?" he cried.

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him.

"How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers.

"We saw your smoke signal", they replied.
It's easy to get discouraged sometimes when things appear to be going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering.

Jungle Book (1942) - Full Movie

The father of young Mowgli (Sabu) is killed by a jungle tiger during the child's early years. Having no family, the boy lives with wolves and befriends a variety of animals. After several years, Mowgli is discovered and returned to his mother, and must grow accustomed to human practices. When Mowgli and new love interest Mahala (Patricia O'Rourke) trek into the jungle together, they discover treasure that causes Mahala's father, Buldeo (Joseph Calleia), to get greedy, with tragic consequences.
